Today we wanted to showcase a beautiful picnic proposal at the stunning Miramar Beach in front of the Rosewood Miramar hotel. We’ve photographed countless proposals at the elegant Rosewood over the years and adore working closely with the staff and concierge at the hotel there. They really craft a top notch experience for their guests that truly feels unrivaled for the beach hotels between Santa Barbara and Montecito. It really is quite a luxurious and beautiful place that almost feels like you stepped into a different country for the day!
This proposal was a particularly special engagement for these two sweethearts traveling from Canada. The scene on the beach for sunset was truly magical for them. Everything turned out perfectly throughout and we were able to align on a really sweet plan for their special moment. We work closely with a company in Santa Barbara called The Picnic Place Santa Barbara and they create some really dreamy picnics for people to land at for their proposals. They helped create the lovely picnic set up for this one and are wonderful folks to work alongside of! Leading up to the proposal, we linked them up with our friends at The Picnic Place and they customized the whole set up to be personalized in a way that is special to them. We loved the fun, warm colors that they went with for the picnic + loved how it really felt to fit the scene there at Rosewood Miramar Beach. We were able to chat through a plan that felt good to him, as they were going to be wine tasting in Santa Ynez earlier that day and then traveling down to the Rosewood Miramar – I mentioned that a great excuse for going to the hotel would be to visit the beach bar Caruso’s for a drink looking out at the beach for sunset. So they started at Carusos there at the Rosewood Miramar and then started traipsing down the beach to their stunning nest of a picnic to land at.
Before he could even get her to the picnic set up, he went for the proposal a bit before he reached the set up to keep an extra element of surprise in the air and also have a more natural background for the moment itself. This is a great moment to remind y’all that This is YOUR Moment! You can do it any way that feels right to you, truly! We will be happy to make your vision all come together for you in any way that you see fit. We thought this was a perfect balance for their session to have a bit more of a dynamic gallery throughout and the final images really feel like they display that well!
After the proposal itself, they continued down Miramar Beach there to finally land within their set up and share some sweet words and extra little surprises with each other. I then guided them through some fun romantics to follow that really seemed to bring out some sweet candid energy from the two of them as they danced down the beach together.
