Boy oh boy – do we have such a sweet treat to share with you all!!

This was such a precious session that I think we will be swooning over for many months to come.. Maybe even until next Christmas season, my goodness this was a cute one!

We had the pleasure of celebrating multiple milestones with this sweet family and are now having the pleasure of capturing memories with them as their family grows! These two had a lovely maternity photo session with us a few months prior and we finally got to meet their sweet newborn, Hudson Wayne. Also, can we just take a moment to appreciate how freakin’ cool that name is?! Hudson Wayne.. what a little legend in the making.

Anywho, we set plans to have their newborn photo session at their house in Valencia – so for those reading this who are wondering if we will travel outside of Ventura for your baby or your celebration, we absolutely will! Typically for newborn photography, in-home sessions seem to be the perfect option for capturing those gentle memories of welcoming your little one into the world. It really allows for you all to be comfortable in your own space and capture some beautifully authentic moments. It’s really so special to create these memories in the space that you will later be watching that little man take his first steps or see that little lady balancing on her bike with no training wheels for the first time from the driveway.

We had so many sweet aspects to incorporate into this newborn session! First of all.. we can not go any longer without mentioning our sweet golden friend, Tucker – this has got to be the sweetest Golden Retriever pup that we have ever had on a session. Just wait until you see some of these precious moments below – ah! Dad is a firefighter, so we absolutely had to incorporate some of his turnout gear into the photos which was a very cool vibe to include. We tried roping in their western roots in a few with the cowboy hat, but it didn’t seem to be the most comfortable seat for little Hudson Wayne unfortunately. Not all ideas will work perfectly, but we sure will try our best to make them happen! Finally, we incorporated a little bit of Christmas spirit into this session since it was scheduled around Christmas-time in December. We had Hudson Wayne snuggled up near the Christmas tree for a few shots, adorned perfectly with the cutest little Santa hat.. one that the sweet dog would eventually decide is better suited for himself. 😉

We finally finished up in their backyard with a stunning view of the valley below which was a great finish to their gallery! I really loved the pop of color that the unique oranges brought into the scene. It really brought a great contrast to the very sweet + cuddly bedroom moments we were capturing earlier. As much as this house was sort of a perfect balance of everything, we really can make any space work! As long as you have some decent available window light in your home and a relatively clean room to work with, we can create some really special memories right in your own home!
