Hi Everyone!
We wanted to pop on here to showcase a really lovely wedding that we recently photographed at one of our personal all-time favorite beaches here in Ventura! We often guide clients specifically to this beach for family photos, engagement photos, maternity photos, etc. so we were so excited to finally get a bride & groom down on the beach here at Surfer’s Knoll right across from Ventura Harbor!
These two have been dreaming of this day for quite some time now and finally the day was here! We started the day with “getting ready photos” at the Pacific View Tower by Wedgewood Weddings where they would also be hosting their reception following the ceremony. It was a perfect space for Travis and his guys to get excited + ready for the day too though! There’s a very classy vibe going on here at the top floor and all the available light from the big wall of windows is just a wedding photographer’s dream! There truly is not anywhere else we can think of in Ventura, other than the Crowne Plaza, that has this stunning of a view over the town below. Especially for an indoor venue! As far as views go, I think a close runner-up would be the top of Grant Park and the Botanical Gardens; but if we’re strictly talking indoor venues – this one really takes the cake!
After having some fun with the guys over at Pacific View Tower, we headed over to Surfer’s Knoll Beach where our second photographer was photographing details of the ceremony area as well as guests arriving. Surfer’s Knoll is quite the perfect location to have your wedding ceremony! It’s extremely accessible from parking at Ventura Harbor, or there is also a parking lot specifically designated for that beach that you can utilize as well. You do have to obtain a permit from the city for a wedding of this size at a Ventura Beach, but it’s substantially more affordable than some of the beachfront venues closeby.
The weather happened to be a bit gusty for their wedding day, which definitely added some sweet drama to the look of their ceremony (in the best of ways of course). It felt like a dreamy windswept celebration of love down on the beach there. Luckily, we are no strangers to unpredictable weather and were able to find the right moments and angles for family photos to try to limit the amount of hair blowing in front of faces. It definitely was fun to play with the wind for romantics later on! It was so cool to have the extra energy flowing through the different scenes we were exploring together. I was so excited to finally adventure around the dunes there with a couple in their wedding dress and suit! Our favorite spots seemed to look just a little extra magical with a bride & groom shining within them!
This truly was such a special celebration that we were so grateful to capture memories for. It would be amazing to see more couples get married down on the beach here! It’s really a great option for keeping venue costs down and also if you have a different fun spot in mind for reception. We also know of some awesome spots to finish off your celebration at that we would be so happy to recommend! Please feel free to reach out if you’re looking for a wedding photographer for your Ventura Beach Wedding or if you just want to chat about options for your ceremony/reception! We would truly love to connect with y’all!
We hope that you all enjoy looking through some of our favorite memories from their special day!
