Hey everyone!
I’m so excited to share some more recent work! The end of last year was crazy busy for me, so I am just now getting all caught up on sharing some of the latest memories with you all.
I recently did an amazing proposal up on a hiking trail above Ojai that was just so sweet! The couple had wanted to do something that was more “them” and I absolutely loved the idea of making it more personal to what would mean something special to them. So when they called asking if I would be up for hiking out to go meet them on the trail as a surprise – I gave them a good hearty “heck yeah!”. First of all, I love hiking anyways and second of all, I thought it would be such a sweet way to propose!
So they wandered away from the beautiful and luxurious Ojai Valley Inn to go out for a day on the hiking trail and we made arrangements to meet in the middle of a scenic trail in Ojai that looks out over the whole valley. I started on one end and found the perfect spot for the proposal itself, sent him a “pin” of the location and a picture of where I was set up, and waited for them to hike up from the other side of the trail. Once I saw them making their way over, I pretended like I was just another hiker enjoying the view, until he dropped down on his knee to pop the question. Ah! It was so special to witness, especially because she had no idea that this was going to be “the big moment”.
Of course it was a yes, because how could you say no with a view and experience like that! I love those special proposals that trade the fancy champagne and rose petals for a more intimate experience in the mountains. I mean, I love the champagne, rose petal proposals just as much as the next guy – but, I really think that this moment should be completely you! Because, that’s what it should be about anyways right? What’s special and unique to you two! So if your thing is going for a hike, riding dirtbikes through the desert, or of course sitting down for a picnic with a fancy bottle of champagne and rose petals – I am all for it!
Hope you all enjoy some of these memories!
