We’ve recently teamed up with an amazing picnic company up in Santa Barbara called The Picnic Place Santa Barbara and are now beginning to offer picnic set ups closer to home here in Ventura, as well as down in Malibu! We’re planning on making a whole picnic blog post listing the various options for these dreamy landing spaces for your special moment – but for now, we wanted to share a recent proposal that we did with them this week at East Beach in Santa Barbara!
J + K were visiting Santa Barbara from LA and J decided that this was the perfect trip to propose to K and ask her to marry him! K is also pregnant – so this was a double celebration for them! These cuties were staying just up the street at the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort, so we designed a perfect landing place for them to arrive at as they walked their dog down to East Beach for the proposal. This spot is so perfectly situated across the street from The Santa Barbara Inn with palm trees lining the beach. It really makes for such a magical background, capturing the essence of moments here just feels like a nostalgic dream of paradise. Almost as if it gives off that natural film vibe that people adore. We must take this opportunity to mention – we would love to include your pet/furry-family-member in your special moments + milestones! Please bring them! We would love to give them all the pets!
We always arrive early for proposals to find a good spot to tuck away and capture some lovely shots of the set up itself, so that you can have memories of the anticipation hanging in the air before your arrival. As J + K walked down the palm-lined path on Cabrillo, I tucked my camera away and waited for them to arrive at the beach for their picnic. Once they were down on the beach, they shared a beautiful moment surrounding their picnic lined with roses, cried happy tears, and celebrated up + down the beach together! These moments truly are so special to share with you and we are so grateful for each opportunity to document your unique moment and sweet proposal.
I really loved incorporating some maternity styled shots within their session! Their pup truly made for the perfect celebrating companion and hype-man! I was cracking up watching him race around the scene through my lens as these two had such a fun time down on the beach together. I think we got some really fun and natural looking moments of these two! They had such great candid energy soaking in this moment together in Santa Barbara really serving up some authentic images. We hope that you can really feel the happiness that was floating through East Beach on this special day!
