Hi Everyone!

I just took some really beautiful engagement photos for this lovely couple in Thousand Oaks the other day and I absolutely love how they turned out! These two are both a team helping to keep our community safe. Cody is part of the Ventura County Sheriff Department and Trista is an EMT first responder. I think together they make an amazing team in life and as partners. They were just so much fun to shoot with!

We hit the trails in Thousand Oaks just before golden hour to get that dreamy light. This is by far the perfect lighting scenario in my book! As we wandered down the path, plentiful laughs, stories, and bird-songs filled the air and a peaceful silence filled in the gaps. As the sun dipped in and out of the clouds that’s when the real magic started happening. The sky started to glow as they danced into the evening and the mountains behind them were kissed with gorgeous pink light.

I’m also super excited because for the wedding, they are ditching the crazy elaborate wedding planning and huge crowd of people they haven’t seen in years to go elope in the mountains of Mammoth. How amazing does that adventure sound!? The elopement will start in the little cozy cabins below and then they are going to trek up the mountain and ski down the hill as a married couple after they say a few words to eachother in the glorious evening light. Did I say it’s going to be absolutely magical!? I almost can’t contain my excitement. I would love to have more elopement sessions like this upcoming one in the future. I live for adventurous couples who want to celebrate their love doing what they love in a jaw-dropping gorgeous location with endless mountains, trees, rivers, and nature on-tap!
